Thomas get on the bus and the leaders runs the woman over in cold blood.
Suddenly, a group of armed people, whom Thomas can only call rescuers, rush into the bulting and attack the creators.
The leader tells the Gladers to follow him to a bus, before they get on, a crazed woman grabs Thomas and say "You have to save us from the flare," but she is dragged away.
Thomas attarcks Gally before breaking down in tears and feeling overwhelming guilt, since he had promised Chuck he would get him back to his family.
Gally put out a knife from his pocked and throw it at Thomas. Before he can react, Chucks throws himself in front of Thomas and with his dring words he ask Thomas to find this mother.
A door opens at the end of the Hole and the Gladers, including Thomas, Teresa,Chuck,Minho, Newt and a few others exit through it to find the creators.
After entering the code, the Grievers are shut down and the remaining Gladers join them. About half of Gladers who choose to fight were killed.
Thomas tells the other Gladers that they need to go down the Griever Hole and enter the code in a computer in the Hole.
After Thomas voices his distress at the map being burnt, Newt and Minho tell him that they hid the Maps in the Weapons Room in case something happened and that they left decoys. With Tereasa, Minho and Newt's help, Thomas finds aa code in the Maps, but they all unsure of how to use it.
The Gladers go into the state of siege and Gally returns in a hysterical state, telling the Gladers that one of them will die every night.
Soon afterwards, Teresa wakes up from the coma and finds Thomas.The two begin to talk and relize they feel connected to each other in a way that is close to remembers their lives before the Glade.
He feels oddly connected to the new girl, and also best friends with chuck and Newt. He also has negative relationship with Gally.
Thomas leans about the Glade, He learns that the Glade have been trying to solve the maze for two years and that the Grievers sting can cause to recall memories from the past.

The day after Thomas is brought to the Glade, a girl is sent with a message claming she is the last one.
He and the 50 other teenage boys inside the Glade call themselfs Gladers, and they have developed a community in which every Glader is assighned to his own job.
When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he an remember is his frist name He has no recollection of his parent, his home, or how he got where he is. His memory is empty.
